Thousands of Miles of Untracked Ocean
Polynesia: The Southern Pacific
Departing Panama, S/V Attila navigated the classic trade wind route southwest to Pitcairn Island, reconnecting with the island community before entering the Gambier archipelago. We dropped anchor in the tranquil lagoon of Taravai for months of spearfishing, hiking, and boat maintenance, subsequently working our way northwest across the Tuamotus, Marquesas, and Society Islands.
Caribbean & Latin Cruising
Years of exploration across the western Caribbean Sea, Mexico, and Honduras culminated in ascending the remote, untouched jungle waterways of the Tuira and Sabana rivers in the Darien province of Panama. Operating far off the chart grid required tidal calculations, anchoring in swift river mud, and trading with remote riverbank settlements.
Desert Sailing & The Roaring Forties
From the desolate, sun-baked desert anchorages of Baja California and the Sea of Cortez to the tempestuous squalls of southern Chile and the Roaring Forties. In heavy seas, the heavy-displacement whale-boat hull of our Hans Christian cutter kept the ship steady, safe, and true to her course when light cruisers turned back.
